Ted Cruz standing room only crowd in Knoxville

The Take Off with Ted Tour started today at Farragut High School. WBIR reported over 1500 people in attendance. I think they estimated low.

Here is a long line waiting outside Farragut High School.

Here is a panoramic view of the crowd awaiting Ted.

Here is a shot of Ted  shortly after he arrived at FHS.

Here is Cruz's speech, beginning to end, uncut. You won't find this in the soundbites from the media.

Ted is a Constitutional Conservative, and is gaining in the polls. I think he has a good chance of winning.

He is worth your support.

Academy Sports deceased shoplifter named

The name of the Academy Sports shoplifter has been released. According to WATE, Amos Frerichs was approached by deputies inside the store.

Frerichs ran out of the store, was in a scuffle with the deputies, got into his vehicle, and ran over both deputies.

When Frerichs apparently attempted to kill the deputies by running them down, one of the deputies drew his weapon, utilized his combat marksmanship training, and neutralized the threat.

There were outstanding warrants on Frerichs in Knox County, according to a Knoxville News-Sentinel report.

Note to would be fleeing felons. The police must win. Go to court and get your three hots and a cot.

Otherwise you may end up like this guy. His life of crime has been cut short.

Interred is deterred!

Note to lawful handgun carriers. Academy is carry-friendly. (To avoid those annoying popup ads, use Adblock for Chrome)

Why is no-fly, no-buy a bad idea?

The National Party of Gun Control, led by Frau Feinstein (D) of California, aided and abetted by a select few Rino's, recently tried to pass a bill that would ban folks on the no-fly (terrorist) watch list from purchasing a firearm.

Lets take a short look at what's wrong with that notion.

  • The list is fraught with errors. There are many names on the list that don't belong. More on this later....
  • The list is a secret list, and you don't know you're on it until you try to fly.
  • There is no way to get your name off.

Bill of Rights Day

On this day, in 1791, the Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments to the Constitution, was ratified. The entire American legal system hangs on this document.

Post San Bernardino

It seems that every time there is a highly publicized massacre, such as last week's Islamic terrorist attack in San Bernardino, there are two inevitable results:

  1. The president, New York Times, leftist (mostly)Democrats, et al, talk about banning guns.
  2. As CBS News reports, the people go out and buy guns.*

Now, which of these makes more sense? Do you take advice from someone who lives behind a fence, with armed protection 24/7?

Liberty University adult students urged to pack heat

At the end of a Liberty University Convocation featuring former Senator Jim Demint, Jerry Falwell, Jr. urged adult students to get training, get handgun carry permits, and start carrying.

To see Falwell's exhortation, fast forward to twenty-seven minutes.

Meanwhile, back in Knoxville, the University of Tennessee bans all weapons from campus. If you are in an extremely dangerous situation there, just call the police. They will be along in ten minutes or so.

Not to worry. Seems like they would rather you suffer a cruel attack, than for anyone to be armed.

Burglar killed in Knoxville

Today's Knoxville News-Sentinel has a story about a burglar being killed at a Knoxville home.

OK, its sad that this happened, but when you play with fire you may get burned. And the perp had a history. And he was out on parole.

Note to all homeowners. The po-po will not be there when the bad guy arrives. Are you prepared?

Kudos to the DA on her decision to not file charges in this case.
